Story
Megan was born 13 weeks early in December 2016. She was born at Jessops and was rushed to the NICU where for five long weeks she was heavily ventilated as the staff battled to save her. She was so poorly and we came so close to losing her several times. She had emergency surgery on a perforated bowel at nine days old and miraculously she survived and showed them she was still fighting. It took five weeks to get her off the ventilator. She spent the first four and a half months of her life at a Jessops before 'graduating' and being transferred to HDU at Sheffield Children's Hospital. She was eventually discharged just before she turned six months old. It might not have lasted long (we had a further nine admissions, spending most of her first year in hospital) but at 15 and a half months old we are finally getting there, spending more time at home and we have a happy, cheeky and amazing little girl thanks to the work of this amazing team.
We were unable to take part in the Jessops Superheroes 2017 last year as we were in hospital. This year we are determined to make it and raise as much money for the charity as we can in the process. They did so much to help Megan and us during the most difficult time of our lives. We will never be able to thank them enough but supporting this event is a start. If anyone can spare a few quid for such a very worthy cause we would very much appreciate it!
