Ahoy Mateys! Help me Walk the Plank off a tall ship... on purpose! On August 18th, World Ocean School will be hosting their annual Walk the Plank event in which the top 10 fundraisers get to take the plunge into the Boston Harbor -- and I'm hoping to be one of them. Shiver me timbers!
Pirate lingo aside, I am doing this to raise money for World Ocean School, a philanthropy I have grown to love through my incredible in-laws, Carol and Steve Rosner. Since learning about World Ocean School about 4 years ago, I've had the joy of hearing about the different ways that World Ocean School has positively impacted kids' lives through immersive experiences aboard the 96 year old schooner Roseway. Based in Boston and on St. Croix, World Ocean School focuses on programming for students from underserved communities. I love that these kids are not simply passengers on some old boat - they actually learn what it means to be members of the crew. This, along with the curriculum, teaches valuable life-skills -- perseverance, situational awareness, and collaboration.
As previously mentioned, only the top 10 fundraisers for this event get to jump and I am hoping that you can help get me there! If you are able to make a donation of any size, please follow this link to my Walk the Plank fundraising page. Any amount at all is truly appreciated!
Thank you!
Meghan
P.S. Individuals who donate at $50 and above are automatically offered 1 ticket to the event! If you're in the Boston area on 8/18, make your donation to get your discount code. It's a super fun event with food, drink, and great raffle prizes!
