Story

I am fundraising for the LSHTM clinic in The Gambia because I know first-hand of the access challenges (financial and otherwise) to high-quality healthcare around the world. This is a core area of my work, and providing evidence and finances to help overcome these barriers is a personal ethical commitment.

Within the community in The Gambia, the clinic is known among patients for its high quality and respectful care, excellent and friendly consultant staff, and affordable prices. With quality healthcare being harder to find, and to access for many patients, in The Gambia than in other parts of the world, demand for the services are high, and patients and their families are grateful for the care they receive.

After 12 years of living in Kenya, I'm also hoping the altitude will bring me some success in running my first half marathon in several years! Please be generous with your donations as I work hard to train through snow, mud and a busy work season!

If you're in London, hope you'll come out to cheer on 7 April!
