We create families for vulnerable children to give them the chance of a happy life

Story

This October, I will be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon and raising funds for a cause close to me heart, Home from Home.

This will be my first ever half marathon so it is quiet the challenge for me!

Home from Home has been providing permanent, family-style foster homes to vulnerable children in the Western Cape province of South Africa for the past 19 years. These children have been orphaned, neglected, abused or abandoned and would otherwise most likely be living a life on the street.

Their 35 foster homes are situated in 16 disadvantaged communities. They believe it is vital that children remain in their place of origin. These homes, with up to six children, are run by dedicated foster mothers, who are employed for their qualities of ubuntu.

This stable home environment means that these children obtain a second chance at a happy childhood and we also ensure that they attend school and receive an appropriate holistic education.

Thank you in advance for supporting my huge challenge and donating whatever you can, it will make a massive difference.
