Please sponsor me on my first ever running race so we can make people’s dreams come true!
After watching the London marathon last year (2018) I got inspired by all the amazing people pushing themselves personally and from doing so making a difference for others who may not be able too... so I decided I’d like to do the same by running 13 miles around the sites of London composting in the London’s Landmarks Half Marathon on 24th March for an amazing charity! Having never done anything like this before, I know it was going to be a huge challenge for me!
My training was going well, I had been doing a regular 15k and was feeling fit! I went on a family ski trip over new year and sadly slipped on some ice walking along the road to the slopes, falling harshly on my tailbone resorting in me loosing feeling in my legs. Unable to walk for almost a week and being in consistent agony due to a now diagnosed bruised and chipped tail bone, it broke my heart to have to withdrawal from my place in the race.
However, I am not one to give up - so it’s with great pleasure that I announce that I will he running in the Royal Parks half marathon on 13th October. I’ve got a long way to go to get back to where I was before, but I know that I can get there, and it will mean more to me than ever to be able to compete in this event. Please sponsor me and help me raise money for this amazing charity that literally makes people’s wishes comes true!
Make-A-Wish UK grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Granting their wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They’re given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and given the chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever – whatever their future may hold. We want to transform the lives of 1,000 children this year by granting their One True Wish!
