I am raising money for The Alzheimer's Society as my nanny was diagnosed 2-3 years ago and has now been in a home for 14 months. We all read about the devastating effects of dementia but it is not until someone in your family has it, that you realise what it is like as it not only affects the person, but everyone around them too, family and friends. Hopefully one day it will be something that can be cured in its early stages.
