Story
Living with mental health problems has been the biggest fight of my life. I have suffered since the age of 13 with various mental health issues. I was admitted to hospital over the summer of 2018. This was a wake up call for me, I needed to get serious help. Unfortunately there is very little help out there, especially for people at university. You are made to feel that stress around this age is normal, and you are not a priority. I am doing this to stand in solidarity with everyone else out there fighting with their own head. If we keep fund raising, one day things will change and we will all be able to access the help we deserve.
Five times as many students are reporting a mental health problem compared with 10 years ago, while the number of us dropping out because of mental health problems has trebled. By being part of twenty-seven 27 you're raising awareness of student mental health and helping us be there for the 27% of us who report a mental health problem while at uni. This March I'm joining the student running revolution and raising money for Mind.
