Story
For the best part of 10 years I have suffered with my mental health, in one way or another. I have never really been that open about it other than to those closest to me, which even still has only been relatively recently. For me I think it will be something that will always be there, but in the past 2 years I have worked with some amazing individuals who have supported me and given the tools to help me cope when times feel tough.
I am extremely excited to have been given the opportunity to run the Berlin Marathon for an amazing cause, Isle Listen.
Isle Listen is a charitable initiative that provides support and training in schools, the workplace and community, helping people to recognise that mental health is just as important as physical health! Their work is focused on providing education, prevention strategies and transformative early intervention, to avoid the unnecessary escalation of mental health problems and help to alleviate pressure on the statutory services. Isle Listen's aim is for everybody in the Isle of Man to feel emotionally empowered and effectively supported with their mental health.
