In December, my friend Fiona sadly passed away at the age of 26 after a 6 month illness from bile duct cancer.

Fiona and I met at University and shared many a good night out together as well as a very memorable trip to Wales post graduation! Fiona was an adventurous, sociable and outgoing woman who loved the great outdoors whether it be buried in the sand on a beach in Rhyl or a bacon sandwich outside a tent at a festival in Derbyshire. She also adored waking in the hills near her home. Fiona would have approved of this challenge!

In June, 30 of Fiona's family and friends will be hiking the grueling, National 3 Peaks trail in 24 hours. We will start the challenge in Scotland, finishing in Wales 24 hours later and 3 mountains down! 

I have chosen to raise money for The Christie, who cared for Fiona during her illness and provided a huge amount of support of her and her family. The Christie are leading experts in cancer care, research and education. they have been pioneering cancer research breakthroughs for over 100 years and remain committed to helping all those affected by cancer. They are also Fiona's chosen charity.
