Story
I am skydiving for Claire House Children's Hospice in 2022.
Fraser sadly passed away in June 2021, aged 19 months. He was an incredibly brave little boy who brought a lot of joy to many people, despite the huge challenges he faced in his life.
Fraser had a very rare genetic metabolic condition named Multiple Congenital Anomalies-Hypotonia-Seizures Syndrome Type 1, caused by an error in his PIG-N gene. There are only around 40 known cases in the world.
His condition meant that he had a lot of physical and neurological challenges - he was unable to hold his own head up or sit up, he was severely visually impaired and could not communicate in the way we take for granted. Epilepsy caused Fraser to have multiple seizures daily and he also had respiratory issues which ultimately proved too great for his body to deal with.
Claire House supported Fraser and his family throughout his life, the hospice was one of the places he was at his happiest, splashing about in the hydrotherapy pool. They continue to provide support to Stewart & Ellie, following Fraser's death.
Fraser made an impact on every individual that was lucky enough to meet him and has personally taught me a lot about my outlook on life and what really matters. I want to give back to Claire house to thank them for the support they gave to Fraser and the family throughout his life and following his passing!
