Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been offered the chance a once in a life time expedition to the Borneo rainforest with Raleigh International. The volunteer programme will throw me into the habitat of the tribal communities that live in the Borneo rainforest. During the 5 week expedition I will be helping to create sustainable water supplies and sanitary facilities for poverty stricken areas. As well as gathering important data regarding endangered wildlife species  to be used by scientists documenting the effect of deforestation and climate change.

Currently in Malaysia and Indonesia, an area of forest equal to 300 football fields is being destroyed every hour; this has lead to 20% of all global carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels coming from rainforest destruction.

To accomplish this I need to raise funds for equipment for building safe water supplies and sanitary equipment which is the main cost of the expedition; on top of this local guides, equipment for documenting endangered animals,  creating sustainable investment for the future of the lives that depend on the rainforest and much more.
