Story
Most people who know me know that I do not run...for anything! My exercise is limited to a walk to and from the station for the daily commute and that's about it.
What some people don't know is that when I was 4 years old, I was diagnosed with pneumococcal meningitis and was given a 50/50 chance of survival by doctors. With the incredible research from Meningitis Now, the wonderful care from the doctors & nurses and, of course, the faith and many prayers from family and friends, I pulled through and am very blessed to be here today, writing this post.
It has always been a dream of mine to run a half marathon (despite my current level of exercise speaking otherwise!) and I am incredibly excited to be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2022 on the behalf of Meningitis Now and raising money for a very worthwhile cause and one which is very close and dear to my heart. My lovely and very supportive boyfriend Tom will be running alongside me and will, if needed, drag me over that finish line no matter what state I'm in!
Any donation, however small or big, would be very much appreciated and make a huge contribution to funding additional life saving research into the many types of meningitis.
Thank you so much in advance and looking forward to keeping you updated on my training progress! x
