UPDATE: as you may know, I am currently “with child”, with baba Lidster due two days before the GNR... so that plan is now not going to happen. I didn’t want to let down the team though, so I’ve decided to do a “Great North Walk” instead, where I’ll walk the half marathon distance, but at an earlier date - specifically, 29th June. At 6.5 months pregnant, this will be as much of a challenge for me as anything, so I’d love it if you’d sponsor me for this fabulous cause!

Along with a group of my colleagues from Crafter's Companion, I shall be running the 2019 Great North Run to raise funds for Rainbow Trust Childrens Charity (I know, I’m mad... 5km clearly wasn’t enough self-inflicted pain!!). It’s for an amazing cause though...
Rainbow Trust provides bespoke emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life-threatening illness. When life is turned upside down, Rainbow Trust is there to provide bespoke emotional and practical support, to all the family, for as long as required. Their work is nothing short of amazing and with your help they can continue to reach out to more families in need of their support.
£23 is enough to pay for an hours practical and emotional support to a family caring for a seriously ill child, helping them make the most of their precious time.
£161 pays for a days visit from a Family Support Worker which allows parents to do chores, look after other family members, relax or simply sleep.
£1,720 is the average cost of support for a family with a seriously ill child for a year.
