Story
Hello Everyone!
Last year, with your help and tremendous support, I have achieved my goal. I enjoyed it and thought of running the London Marathon again. This year, I have chosen to run for SENSE, a charity that supports & campaigns for deafblind people.
Living with little or no sight and hearing is immensely challenging. For example, communicating with other people, moving around safely and living independently may be very difficult. Despite this, given the right support, services and information each individual can develop their talents, have their say and choose how they wish to live their lives.
As people are living longer, many more elderly people are having to cope with combined sight and hearing difficulties. My own mother who is 89 years old is one of them. She lives independently & at this age, she has to cope with these difficulties. She cannot talk on the phone as she cannot hear even with her hearing aid. She cannot read, nor watch TV clearly. I understand how difficult life becomes suddenly without sight & hearing. Many feel isolated and unwanted.
My late father-in-law had also become literally blind. Life had become restricted for him and it was not easy as many of you know.We must sense the need for our support to SENSE as deafblind people can only sense.
Please donate now. And forward this on to your friends.
£1000 needs to be raised by March 25th 2010 and the remaining £500 after the marathon.
By the way:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
THANK YOU
MEENA
