Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page. JustGiving is the easiest, quickest and simpliest way to donate. It's secure, JustGiving will never share your details or send you any unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. The La Manche to Le Med Cycle Challenge saw a group of four Medina High School Sixth Formers from the Isle of Wight cycle of 970 kilometres (600 miles) down through France, in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice. They will be accompanied by three support crew members, who are all students and two parent drivers. We will be cycling from Saint-Malo, to Narbonne-Plage, and the distance will be completed by cycling 110 kilometres a day for 8 consecutive days. To find out more about the Challenge, visit http://www.hospicecyclechallenge.com/. This website contains a presentation about the challenge, a route plan, a gallery of training pictures and profiles of all the team members.
We are doing all of this to raise money for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the Isle of Wight. Our Current Fundraising Goal is £6,000, this enables the Hospice function for just 1.3 days, as they have to raise £4,500 every day. The Hospice provides services for people who have been given a life-shortening diagnosis. The Hospice cares for over 800 people, and also providing Hospice care at people's homes. As they provide care, they require a large amount of staff, most of which are volunteers, giving up their precious time.
