We fund vital innovative biomedical studies to ignite research into ME/CFS

Story

For ME awareness week this year, our team members will be walking either 11 or 20 miles across Cannock Chase on Saturday the 14th of May. We will endeavour to update the page with our progress as we go.

20 miles; Adam & Daniel Flello, Louis Snazle & Brian Cutler.

11 miles; Wendy & Michael Flello.

We hope to; help raise awareness of ME, raise some money in aid of ME research, and to remind ourselves never to take a walk in the woods for granted.

ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) is a terrible, often overlooked illness that can break down every aspect of a person's life through severe mental and physical fatigue.

Our wife, daughter, mother, friend, Shelley, is just one such person who struggles with this condition everyday. An estimated 17 million people world wide are affected with this misunderstood and so far untreatable illness.

If we think back to the first lockdown and how we were unable to go out and live normal, everyday lives... Severe ME sufferers like Shelley did not come out of lockdown. That is their life every day.

From ME Research - "....doctors do not treat us and science does not study us. How could a disease this common and this devastating have been forgotten by medicine?" Jennifer BreaME Research UK believes that only biomedical research can find the causes of ME/CFS, improve diagnosis and treatment, and, ultimately, arrive at a cure. That’s why research is our focus.
