Maine Adaptive is celebrating 40 years of offering quality adaptive recreation throughout Maine to individuals with differing abilities regardless of their ability to pay. Through the years, our programs have grown from alpine skiing to so much more.

Story

During my 15 years of involvement with Maine Adaptive I've witnessed truly inspiring examples of people turning disabilities into abilities they never thought possible.  Not only has their experience with Maine Adaptive helped them achieve an active lifestyle, but has also provided  an opportunity to channel new-found confidence to all aspects of their lives.  Truly life-changing ... for them and for me!  At Maine Adaptive the word "can't" is replaced with will adapt.

In celebration of Maine Adaptive's 40th Anniversary year, please consider supporting/joining my 40-in-40 Challenge (40hrs of activity in 40 days) starting March 1, 2022.   If it isn't winter where you are don't worry.  Grab your skis, your snowshoes, your bike, your indoor rower, whatever - just get active!  Track your hours automatically with Strava by joining Club Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation (https://www.strava.com/clubs/313074).  Share the challenge with other Strava friends.  I know some of you will blow 40 hours out of the water, but let's see who stands atop the leader board when the challenge ends Saturday April 10th 2022.

Maine Adaptive has been providing high-level adaptive programming and adaptive equipment for people with disabilities at no cost to the participant-athletes for 40 years.  All programming is in Maine, but participants have attended from all across the US/Canada and the world - including specialty programs for disabled US veterans and their immediate family.  Please help continue this this very special program for another 40 years.

A $40 donation would be a great help - more or less depending on individual circumstances.  Thank you!!
