Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 8th August 2012 a family friend sadly passed away after a long hard fight against cancer. It was brought to my attention that the family were planning to take on the Ben Nevis challenge in 2013 and I immediately thought this is just the challenge and motivation I required to get back in shape and help raise funds for a great charity, so I have accepted the challenge.
May 2013 will see a group of us trekking to the summit of Ben Nevis the highest Munro in Scotland and mountain in the British Isles. The summit is 4,409 feet above sea level and will take approximately 4 hours to reach. I know this will be no afternoon stroll and will be a physically demanding but hugely rewarding personal experience. I am determined to get to the summit and will be worth every aching muscle and blisters. Hopefully I will get to see some amazing views en route to the summit if the weather is kind to us.
My chosen charity is Cancer Research UK who is currently the world leader in finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. They have made amazing progress over the years, but many lives are still being affected by cancer. This is why I am asking you to please help me fundraise for Cancer Research UK. So please dig deep and give what you can, all donations are much appreciated.
Thanks for your time and any donations made. Please pass this onto anyone else you know who might be interested in sponsoring me. I will be adding regular updates to this page on the lead up to, during and after the trek to keep you all updated on my progress.
