At the end of 2015 many of you may remember I was diagnosed with inoperable cancer, due to primary bowel cancer having spread to my lungs and so extensively in my liver surgery was not possible.

Take over Chloe.........Wow what a couple of years! Not one you would wish on anybody but thanks to the amazing Royal Marsden Hospital my man is still here to walk again.

You are an inspiration Geoff and I am so proud to be your wife. I am not sure how many people would have managed to endure what you have but we all know you had no choice!

For those who don’t know the Royal Marsden is an unbelievable place and makes life changing things happen daily.

So how have they changed our lives? These past 2 years Geoff has undergone 21 rounds of “kitchen sink” chemo as I liked to call it! They were literally chucking it all at him (something other hospitals were not able to do) and he soaked it up and eventually went from inoperable to “operable”. Not any old op mind, an 8 hour surgery where they somehow managed to remove a still large tumour in the liver from very close to his blood supply. They described it as coring an apple?? 

Two people in Europe could do this op and we had one of them at the Royal Marsden!!! This was followed by ten very intensive days on CCU, you would think this might get you down but no, the people there are so professional, upbeat and AMAZING you just keep smiling and keep going even when your hubby is barely conscious and wakes up blind!?

A second major surgery to remove the bowel cancer, a repeat major  liver resection and several invasive radio ablations later they and my man refuse to give up.

We have lived 2 years of not knowing how much longer and so making the most of every day which we would recommend everybody try to adopt as life is so much more fun like that but THANK YOU Royal Marsden as you (and God!) have made writing this possible.

So if you're still reading, over to you..... please give as generously as you can as this horrendous disease has to be stopped and The Royal Marsden are most definitely at the forefront of making it happen.
