Story
My smelly, worn down running shoes testify that I've been out pushing myself hard in all weathers - why?
Every two hours, a man commits suicide in the UK. Rates of suicide, suicidal thoughts and self-harm are rising every year. I've seen apparently strong people absolutely broken and close to the edge and know what a lifeline mental health charities are.
On Sunday 13 October, I'll be running the Oxford Half-Marathon to help turn a building site in Oxfordshire into a beautiful mental wellbeing garden run by the hugely experienced charity Guideposts. As I run, I'll be imagining the land transformed into a place of safety, rehabilitation, reconnection with nature and new hope.
I'd be thrilled if you'd join me by donating whatever you can afford - big or small - to have a stake in this wonderful project. I'm determined to do my best for this cause. Your gift will push me on in this last week and on the day to give it my all!
Thanks and sweaty runner's hugs,
Matt
