Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Great North Run in memory of my friend, Stuart (big Stu) Reilly who passed away peacefully on Friday 24th February, aged just 52 years.
Those of you who knew him will know that the last few years of Stu's life were hard and, in happier times, he and I often talked about taking part in the Great North Run and even began training, once or twice, threatening to get fit and stop visiting the pub quite so frequently. We never did manage to do either.
Since Stu died, I've been thinking that I would run the Great North Run in his name, but my head has been a bit of a mess and I haven't really managed to prioritise the training in the way that I would have liked. Until today!
I've got 60 days of training left and I want to try and raise some money in Stu's name for "Out of the Blues”, a Registered Charity that conducts cutting edge research into mood disorders with the goal of increasing understanding of, and improving treatment for, these conditions. Again, those of you who attended the funeral will be aware of the charity and its work, so hopefully we can raise a few extra quid for a great cause and remember our friend in the process.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. For my friend,
Big Stu
