About McCrea:
McCrea Financial Services have been providing professional financial planning advice and assistance to individuals, businesses and charities since they were formed in 1999 by Managing Director, Douglas McCrea.
Based in Glasgow, but serving the whole of the UK, as well as clients abroad, McCrea pride themselves on providing a professional and friendly financial planning service.
As part of a commitment to the city where it all started, McCrea Financial Services are sponsors of a number of Glasgow based sporting teams including Glasgow Warriors and Partick Thistle, and work very hard to provide charitable support with over £600,000 now donated to our nominated charities over the years.
Last year we were able to raise just around £30,000 for Guide Dogs Scotland, and hope to improve on this amount in this year of fundraising.
To kick off our year of fundraising for this great charity, 5 members of the McCrea team – Jonathan, Troy, Lesley, Elaine and Lesley-Anne, participated in the annual Kiltwalk during April as they tackled ‘The Mighty Stride’, a 22.7mile walk from Glasgow Green to Balloch. Even in the extreme heat (yes this was in Glasgow!), the team did a great job and all finished the walk, and were able to raise £1,076 altogether!
We were also delighted to be able to host our 12th Annual Charity Golf Day at The Duke's Course, St Andrew's on 19th May 2022. Thankfully we were blessed with great weather, and a great amount was raised across the day.
A year of charity fundraising wouldn't be complete without McCrea Managing Director Douglas McCrea participating in his Annual Charity Walk. Having spent 6 days last year walking the Dava Way and Moray Coast Trail back-to-back, totalling over 108 kilometres, this year Douglas will walk The Borders Abbeys Way Walk from 14th August to 19th August, totalling 109 kilometres - as spotted, much longer than last year's effort!
At the start of October, we had five of the McCrea team participating in the Great Scottish Run, raising nearly £1,000 between them. McCrea advisors Jonathan and Graeme ran the half marathon, while Elaine Hamilton, Michael and Emily ran the 10k event.
As we round off our year of fundraising for Common Wheel, we are delighted to announce the return of our Charity Race Night, which will be held at Hillhead Sports Club on March 17th!
Our Charity Race Night is a great night which raises thousands of pounds for charity whilst enjoying loads of curry, horse racing, great prizes and a busy bar, and we are delighted to say that we have sold out in record time!
