We educate, support & raise awareness to save lives and improve outcomes.

Story

Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis. It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? I’ve never heard of it!” In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths. It also funds our vital support work, helping people adjust to life after sepsis.

Bryan, our lovely dad/husband, sadly developed sepsis in August 2017. This quickly spread into his chest area causing a bone infection called osteomyelitis. Bryan spent the next 8 months bravely fighting for his life and enduring 4 major and extremely painful operations in Guys Hospital to remove his collar bones and ribs to stop the infection from spreading further.

Now following Bryans operations and many more setbacks on the way, although he is grateful to be alive he has been left with many disabling issues and much continuous pain. This has had a huge impact on his and all of our lives.
Bryan is positivily moving forward and determined to make the most out of his life and is receiving help from many wonderful professionals at Guys Hospital and elsewhere.
Suzanne, Amy, Katie and James are going to be walking 100km from Eastbourne to Arundel along the coast continuously, throughout the day and night on 31st August 2019. We are taking on this 100km challenge to raise as much money as possible for Sepis UK and in doing so raising awareness of the dangers of this illness and on behalf of a brave man who we love so much.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
