Story
Our McCann Birmingham team is taking part in the Bupa Great Birmingham Run for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Last year, Neil Rodgers, Group Account Director at McCann, sadly lost his fight with cancer and passed away in his sleep. Neil, who was from Wolverhampton, worked in McCanns’ advertising division since 1997 and after being diagnosed with inoperable cancer, in true Neil-style he set about doing something positive to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Together with three members of the McCann team, Neil travelled through seven countries, in five days, for one good cause - on Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. The ‘rebels with a cause’ raised more than £13,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care and we would like to continue this support with a squad of runners taking on 13.1 gruelling miles around Birmingham city centre.
Your donations will go towards building a new Marie Curie Hospice for the West Midlands, which is due to open early 2013. With your kind support, we can help Marie Curie build a new hospice- your support can make a BIG difference. Every £10 we raise will help this charity put another brick in the building. £20 will help provide bedding which helps patients feel safe and warm. £100 will help provide furniture like a visitor’s chair, where friends and relatives can sit down for a cup of tea and spend precious time with their loved ones.
