The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Willing walkers are taking on the Mayor's Peaks Challenge on Saturday 29 April to help raise money for the Mayor's Name A Guide Dog Puppy Fund.

Participants will be walking either the "end to end" long walk of 15km (6-8 hours) taking in  the seventeen peaks of the Malvern Hills or the shorter walk of 7km (3-5 hours) taking in the main section of the Malvern Hills and including the highest peak of the hills, The Worcestershire Beacon.

Both walks are challenging, and finishers should rightly be proud of their achievement and the medal they receive at the finish line. Please help to support them by donating to this page and helping to raise funds for Guide Dogs.

Every day, 250 people in the UK start to lose their sight and despite the devastation that this causes, 70% of adults receive no support within the first twelve months of diagnosis. Childhood sight loss is also on the increase with around 35,000 children and young people living with a vision impairment in the UK.

Guide Dogs help to re-open the world for those who have no sight and their owners cannot imagine life without them. All funds raised will go directly to help support a puppy right through to training.
