Story
The Live Crib is one of Mayfield School's oldest, and proudest traditions. Each year for over 60 years, the students have recreated the timeless story of Mary and Joseph, turned away from the inn, and finding shelter in the stable - otherwise known as Mayfield's 14th Century Chapel. Mary and Joseph, carrying a real baby, and accompanied by a real donkey (with attendant pooper scoopers!) are serenaded by hordes of Angels, and are visited by the shepherds and the Magi.
For many years, Live Crib has brought joy to hundreds of people, and with that, raised a lot of money for worthwhile charities. This year, of course, we have had to make radical changes to how we've presented the Live Crib; although we hope that our rich history of charitable giving might continue.
If you can, please contribute to one of our chosen charities for this year - the Cardinal Hume Trust, or Crisis. We are deeply grateful for any offerings, especially in these difficult and uncertain times. We wish you and all your family and loved ones a Happy Christmas from everybody here at Mayfield.
