Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. It’s been a year since my friends lost their little baby angel Aran and so I have decided I’m going to participate in a charity trek in his memory with him mum to try and raise as much money as possible for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
To those of you who don’t know much about Great Ormond Street or think here we go another children’s charity you are not alone!!! I thought the same when I heard people in the past collecting for them; but since they were involved with my friends baby and I saw and heard all the stories first hand I really changed my mind!
Their son Aran was born along with his twin brother Ishan on August 2 2010 weighing 1lb 4oz. Aran spent the first 16 weeks of his life in special care and neo-natal units and finally came home in the November before being transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital in March 2011 after suffering two cardiac arrests.
Aran spent the last eight weeks of his life at Great Ormond Street Hospital, this was the most difficult time in their families life knowing that their beautiful baby boy was so sick. With the support of the hospital they were able to take Aran home on a life support machine to a house full of love and memories where he passed away.
We will be trekking between 5-9 hours per day along the Great Wall of China for 11 days. This will be my first time doing this sort of thing and I have to admit I’m a bit apprehensive as those of you who know me know that I can’t even walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath!! I’ve already had all the jokes and jibes and so before you ask NO I’m not doing it in heels!!!
As I have never done this kind of thing before and I have never asked any of you to sponsor me I’m hoping you will dig deep and help me reach my goal of £3,500.
