Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the first weekend of February our world changed completely. My nephew Max was taken to a local hospital with what was believed to be a chest infection, but - after he was transferred to Great Ormond Street - we discovered that he has a tumour in his chest.
I always thought I knew what fear was, but I don't think I ever truly did until now. I can't even begin to imagine how Suzy and Barry (Max's parents) have been feeling. But, no matter how scary this has been, the staff at Great Ormond Street have gone above and beyond again and again. They've shown professionalism and compassion at every step of the way.
Because of their hard work and knowledge, I have complete faith that Max is going to be okay (plus, he's a little trooper and a superstar himself), but I still feel the need to do something. I'm not a medical professional, so I can't help Max directly, but I can help those who are able to help him.
I know times are hard at the moment, but if you can spare a few quid, I'm sure Great Ormond Street Hospital (and the staff and children there - and Max, Suzy and Barry!) would really appreciate it. Having looked at their website, I can confirm that donations will go towards pioneering research, advanced medical equipment, child and family support, building and refurbishment and running costs.
