Story
On the 17th of February, I will be attempting an Ice Mile. What's an Ice Mile I hear you say. Well, I will need to swim 1 mile, in water that is under 5 degrees, in nothing more than 1 pair of goggles, 1 pair of standard swimming trunks and a single hat. It will take about 35 mins give or take. Under 5 degrees is the temperature of the beer chilling in your fridge.
I say attempt because it is very hard to do, so far only 237 people have managed to do it and been officially ratified. It is considered by many to be the hardest swimming challenge there is. It is, by a long way, the hardest thing I have ever trained for, and I have been training for this for over 3 years now... I really need all the reasons possible for why I shouldn't just give up halfway so the more people who support me the harder it is going to be to stop and miss raising all that money!
As well as me raising money doing my swim, Rory and Noah are also helping. Rory has organised a bake sale at his school, he has managed to get together 13 of his amazing friends to bake and sell cakes at school. Noah will be also donning his apron and creating a cake masterpiece for the sale as well. So if you can't get a cake there I have said I can collect money on his behalf through this page.
We are raising money for Alzheimer's because Rory and Noah's Opa, my Father in Law has it, and it is pretty brutal for everyone involved. The quicker we can find a cure or at least invest in more help for those affected the better.
Special shout out to Rory's fellow bakers - Alessio, Grace, Elliot, Luna, Ben B, Amy, Millie, Ben P, Saskia, Isaac B, Issac W, Rakin and Daniel.
