Story
St Giles Hospice is where my nan stayed for the last 17 days of her life, the last thing I wanted was for her to go to a hospice.I wanted her at home, where me and my family could look after her.My nan,Maureen was probably the heart of the family always running round for us,looking after us,spoiling us,you name it she ticked the box.It was a massive shock to me when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour when I was 12.We found out it was terminal, and my family all pulled together to look after nan.Its what she would of wanted,We had a st giles nurse come in and make sure my nan was okay, and if there was any problems we'd ring her up and ask her to come round and check my nan over, but it all changed when my nan had a 16 hour seizure which was probably the worst thing to watch happen to a loved one .After that my family decided the best place for her was in St Giles they could control the pain, and had special equipment to make her time there more comfortable. The hospice gave me a vibe that we didnt have to worry anymore, everything was going to be okay.Nan sadly passed in november.St Giles really is a good place, and a excellent cause, they've given us help after the death of nan too,I really cant describe how much they do in words. My family have decided where going to try and raise as much as possible, and we're starting by doing a nine mile walk around lichfield-The solstice walk. The hospice is funded mostly from donations, and my family and I are trying to raise £20,000,Please help us!!
