Eighty years ago on the 10th June 1942, the Czech village of Lidice was destroyed by the Nazis as retaliation for the assassination of the brutal Reichsprotektor of Bohemia and Moravia, Reinhard Heydrich. All the men and boys over the age of 15 were executed along with several women. The remaining women were sent to Ravensbruck concentration camp. Of the 105 children, 82 were thought to have been gassed at Chelmno. The rest were sent to Germany to be part of the Lebensborn programme and brought up as Germans. My novel, The Search, imagines what might have happened to two of those children. The e-book will be free to download on Amazon for three days 10-12 June 2022 in memory of that atrocity and to raise money for UNICEF who help child victims of war throughout the world. The normal cost of the e-book is £2.99 so if you download the book, it would be great if you could donate this to UNICEF. Thank you. The link is below.
