Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My only brother, Colin, died very suddenly at his home in Devon on 19th November. He was just 67 years old.
On leaving school he went to Kingsway College in London & then worked for Sedgewick Collins ( later Sedwick Forbes) Insurance Brokers.
He surprised the family when he suddenly announced that he'd decided to go to Chichester Theological College & become an Anglican Priest.
On completing college his first post was in Manor Park E12 & then he moved on to Bishop's Stortford. After his ordination as Priest in Chelmsford Cathedral he became vicar of St Hughes, Cantley nr Doncaster for a few years before moving south again, this time to Kenton near Harrow.
When the time came to leave there & having always had a love for the West Country he went down to Heavitree where he remained until health problems forced his early retirement.
He is remembered fondly in all those churches & it has been comforting to hear stories from people who have contacted with me since hearing of his untimely death.
He loved all animals, often feeding any waif or stray that came calling in his garden & generously supporting many animal charities.
It therefore seemed fitting to suggest that, although he loved flowers & was a talented flower arranger, people consider donating to a chosen charity rather than send a floral tribute to his funeral.
Colin avidly watched all animal programmes on TV & it was there that 'Secret World' first came to attention. As they are currently trying to raise funds for a new wildlife hospital it was an obvious choice.
My brother was a larger than life character & will be sorely missed.
