On the 1^st of November, we (Anne Lundon and Maureen Macleod) are going to do the New York Marathon for Diabetes UK.   We both have friends and family affected by type 1 diabetes and for most with this incurable condition, multiple daily insulin injections and close monitoring of blood glucose levels are a fact of life.  All the money that we raise will go towards an Edinburgh-based project researching islet transplants and liver regeneration which will hopefully be of great benefit to people with type 1 diabetes in the future.  For more information on this project, check out Diabetes UK’s website - https://www.diabetes.org.uk/Research/Our-research-projects/Scotland/Islet-transplants-and-liver-regeneration/
