Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit and welcome to our Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run 2023 #TeamHDA campaign page. Ellis, Dale and Matt are teaming up again for the RBRR, this time in Dale's big saloon, and by sponsoring us you can help us support people living with Huntington's disease in England and Wales.
The Disease and Charity
Huntington’s disease can cause changes with movement, learning, thinking and emotions. Once symptoms begin, the disease gradually progresses, so living with it means having to adapt to change, taking one day at a time. Although there is, as yet, no cure, you can learn to manage symptoms more effectively to improve your quality of life. The Huntington's Disease Association (HDA) help people living with
Huntington’s disease to live a better life, by improving care and support services for sufferers, educating families and professionals, and funding research into finding a cure.
Our good friend Matt Sutton, a long time Club Triumph member, and someone who has taken part in many 10CRs and RBRRs in the past has been living with Huntington's for a number of years now. Matt's condition is assisted with drugs the HDA helped fund the development of... being just one of the amazing things this small organisation do.
The Team
Team Maude consists of a number of people drawn (sometimes kicking and screaming) from a loosely assembled (sometimes personally, physically as most of us are past our 'Best Before' date) group of family and friends and crammed into 'Maude', Dale's much less loosely assembled 1966 Triumph 2000 Mk1.
This year's crew has between them around 28 (we can't count that high accurately) previous RBRRs and Maude has 3. Hopefully, that means that at least 1 team member should know the way - probably Maude!
Preparations are well underway, with Maude having a new, now run-in, 2.5 litre engine and all the necessary upgrades to go with that, and has been out and about on several runs, events and rallies already this year with at least 3 more to go before the RBRR. Dale and Ellis have new glasses meaning it will be even more scary when Matt gets behind the wheel, because they'll be able to see the hedge coming before they go through it.
We hope you can help us along to our target with a donation however big or small – it truly will all help.
