Story
In August 2011 I decided to do something about my weight. I was over 23 and a half stone. I joined Slimming World and started to shed the weight. Although I have gained a bit of weight since, I managed to get to a low of 15 stone and a weight loss of 8.5 stone. About 18 months ago I decided to work on my fitness as I found the courage to start going to the gym. I joined First Class Gym in Bridgend and along with the fantastic help of one of their personal trainers (Kierra) my fitness soared beyond what I ever expected. I realised that I could also run for more than 10 yards for the first time in my life!!! I started to run more and did my first 10K at the St Davids Day run 2014. I then entered the Cardiff Half Marathon which took place in early October 2014. I decided not to fundraise as I didn't expect to do very well in it. However, I surprised myself and completed the race. I did it in 3 hours. I would have preferred to do a time closer to 2.5 hours, but I am so pleased I completed it .
Now its time for my second half marathon. I am aiming to finish in 2.5 hours and this time fundraise for a worthy cause.
I am a massive Formula One fan, so when I saw a half marathon that uses the iconic Silverstone Circuit as its course, I just couldn't resist the chance to run on it.

Update: Well, I had to miss the Silverstone Half Marathon. Gutted!! I will look at entering next year.
I have decided to carry on fundraising and not let those who have already donated down. I will now be taking pat in the 2015 Cardiff Half.
