My brother has got me a ride in a charity ride at Ascot to raise money for Racing to School, which are part of the British Horseracing Education & Standards Trust (BHEST).

I am very excited by this opportunity and in order to qualify for the race I need to raise £2000 for this fantastic charity.

It's a free education programme for pupils and students of all ages behind the scenes at the races. Young people learn best when they experience first hand how their school subjects relate to the real world and this is exactly what Racing to School offers.

The sheer enthusiasm of their dedicated, qualified education officers, including former teachers, jockeys and members of the racing fraternity never fails to engage and inspire young minds.

Racing to School is a free programme it enables schools from the most deprived areas to take part.

Their lively, hands-on approach enhances a range of National Curriculum subjects, sparks interest in the sport and opens minds to the many different career opportunities within the racing industry.
