Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.On the 4th of August me and Matt will be embarking with our trusty Two Bare Feet Stand UP Paddleboards on a grueling 100 mile sponsored challenge, to raise money for a fantastic charity WorcesterSnoezelen.Worcester Snoezelen is a multi-sensory leisure therapy centre for people who have disabilities and additional needs. Snoezelen provides accessible and inclusive activities which promote relaxation, stimulation and socialising. The centre comprises of 4 multi-sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pool, soft play area, sensory garden music and arts. There are sessions for children and adults, and it can be booked individually or visited on a drop in basis for the children's sessions on a Tuesday, Saturdays and SundaysThe challege is a 100 mile paddle along the river Severn starting in Welshpool and finishing in Worcester four and half days later. We will be doing the paddle unaided carrying all the kit we need on the boards and camping at night along the way.The paddle will be both physically and mentally demanding carrying everything we need for four and half days will add alot of wieght on to the boards. Other hurdles will be the weather, river levels and a small section of rapids along with the mental challenge of doing such a long distance.(Duncan) Personally Snoezelen means alot to my family as my amazing 6 year old boy is autistic. It is a fun and stimulating safe place and refuge where he can play, relax, enjoy the hydro pool and be himself without prejudice. We have also met some amazing people and enjoyed the support of staff and other parents. So please give what you can and help to put smiles on the faces of those who use this fantastic charity.Thank you so much for your support,Duncan & Matt
