We provide crucial information and support to patients living with Black Bone Disease

Story

In May we shall be cycling from Paris to London covering over 300 miles to raise money for the Alkaptonuria society.

Alkaptonuria is a rare genetic disease that only affects 1 in 250,00 people. The disease eats away at the cartilage in the body leading to severe disability. Most sufferers will be wheel chair bound and end up having replacement joints. Other symptoms include heart and respiratory problems as well as problems with the eyes teeth and skin. At present there is no cure for the disease.

We are raising money for this charity as we have a friend whose two small children have the disease. At present they have no symptoms but it is only a matter of time unless a cure can be found.

Please help if you can,

Many thanks,

Bob and Matt.
