Story
Hi,
Thanks for visiting my page. I am along with a group of like minded 'overweight' football friends raising money for the British Heart Foundation. This is to me a charity VERY close to my heart and indeed my family having lost my Dad, my Hero some 11 years ago, to an undiagnosed severe heart condition, ultimately resulting in a massive coronary event that took his life almost instantly. We were told as a family that even had he been at the hospital - less than 5 minutes away, it would have made no difference to his outcome.
We have lived with this knowledge for the past 11 years, missing him every day, knowing what an amazing, truly gentle & incredible person he was and how quickly he was taken away. I would wish that perhaps my story can encourage you to donate to this cause, in the hope that further research may one day prevent this awful, heartbreaking situation from happening to others. If there could possibly be a way to recognise this disease earlier and more easily, perhaps other family's can be spared the shear heartache and loss I & my family feel.
Myself and the guys are going to be taking part in and completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge on 24th July. A triple climb and descent of some approximately 24 miles in one day, of the Three Peaks in Yorkshire. Training has begun, gently.
Therefore I'd be so eternally grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thank you So Very Much for your support. Much love.
