Story

Maggies Swansea is a local charity that supports anyone affected by cancer, their family and friends, across South & West Wales. By 2020 1 in 2 people will be affected by cancer in their lifetime. Many will face tough questions, exhausting treatment and difficult emotions that also affect their friends and families. Thats why they need a Maggies. Maggies provides the following: Free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends. Psychologists to help with the emotional trauma of cancer. Benefits Advisors to help people access benefits and grants they are entitled to. Support groups - each providing an invaluable source of support to people with cancer. In the words of one of our centre users The hospital cured my cancer but Maggies made me better. Maggies is solely reliant on the generosity of the community and receives no money from the Government or NHS.
