Story
My wife had cancer 4 years ago, and I can't explain how much it changed our lives. It was heart breaking having to explain to our 2 young girls that their Mummy was sick, and would be spending a lot of time in hospital. I can't imagine how hard it must be to have to watch your child go through what my wife went through.
I have been a supporter of CFC for quite a few years, and now I am lucky enough to work for them. So I’ve seen first hand what a difference the charity makes to the lives of children with cancer.
Every year in the UK approximately 2,400 children and young people (up to and including the age of 18) are diagnosed with cancer.Exercise and activity has been shown in numerous scientific studies to be the single most effective way of improving both physical and mental wellness for people surviving cancer. We promote cycling as the best form of exercise-based rehabilitation for children because it provides all these benefits in a low impact, fun, sociable and exciting way! Every penny of your fundraising will go directly to helping children living with cancer by providing them with new lightweight bikes, specially adapted trikes, tandems, tag-a-longs, which help them to regain their physical fitness, strength, mental wellness and reduce their social isolation after months of cancer treatment. Since the charity began in 2005 we have helped over 8,000 children in their rehabilitation, enabling then to get outside, get active and have some much needed fun!
