Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 26th June 2019 my Dad and Mum (with the dog Tom of course) were walking in the Lake District just outside Keswick.
It was a clear sunny day and it ended tragically when my Dad slipped off a path overlooking Cat Gill and suffered a fatal fall.
Keswick Mountain Rescue came to his assistance and did what they could to help him. He had however already succumbed to his injuries.
The team (20 strong in total) also took amazing care of my Mum and the Dog. Their professionalism and compassion were of comfort in the hours following the accident. They looked after them in the time before myself and my brother could get there
The Team comprises up to 50 team members who live in and around Keswick. They are all volunteers who give up their time to help others. They are available 24 hours a day, everyday of the year and in any conditions. You can learn more at their website here https://keswickmrt.org.uk/
My Mum and Dad were both volunteer Emergency First Responders for the Ambulance Service in Staffordshire for 12 years. I can therefore fully appreciate the selfless dedication it takes to do volunteer Emergency Roles in often difficult and distressing conditions.
I would like to try and raise some money for this fantastic organisation which relies entirely on Charitable Donations. They have costs associated with Equipment, Training, Vehicles and many other things in order to keep going and provide this invaluable service.
Please give what you can. This group helped immensely with the situation involving both my parents. We need to make sure they are able to help others in the future.
In memory of my Dad
