Story
Whilst I’ve always had a passion for running, I’ve previously dropped it when life gets in the way. In the spirit of ‘2023, new year, new me’, I’m setting myself a goal to run further, run more and stay consistent.
Through my running group in Newport (Lliswerry Runners), I’ve signed up to the Newport Marathon – if I’m going to do it, might aswell do it properly, right? I’ve never previously run a distance of over 14 miles before, so this is a huge challenge for me.
I’ll be running for Newport Mind. After the last few years, I’ve been more aware than ever of how important looking after our mental health is, and just how critical it is to have support available when it’s needed.
Whether it’s to support such an incredible cause, to help me look great in running shorts, or to see me hold myself accountable this year – I’d really appreciate any sponsorship.

Why Newport Mind?
Each year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem. Newport Mind provides a wide variety of services to the local community and has supported people and their mental health for over 40 years.
They are an independent charity and have responded to increased demand for their services since the pandemic struck in 2020.
Newport Mind provides help and support to people from all backgrounds, cultures and of all ages through a variety of means. They believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. Help us by joining the fight for mental health!
