Their purpose is to help people with Down’s syndrome to have the same opportunities as everyone else. Support is offered from the moment a child is born right through to adulthood and beyond. One of the ways that they do this is by connecting people to essential services and even provide free weekly speech and language therapy. A £10 donation would pay for a week’s speech and language therapy for one child with Down’s syndrome. One of the greatest barriers for someone with Down’s syndrome in accessing their local community is a difficulty with speech. The Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group aim to break down that barrier.
