Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.
My name is Matt McGinn and I am the Chair of the Wiltshire and Swindon Crimestoppers Committee.
The aim of our Committee is to make Wiltshire and Swindon a safer place for everyone.
We are aware that youth crime and anti-social behaviour is a problem facing many communities and a significant number of young people are being lured into street crime and gang activity. Last year, it was reported that a knife or blade was used in a crime every 16 minutes. With over 2,300 victims of knife crime aged 18 or under, it’s time we broke the cycle of violent crime impacting our young people, their families and their communities.
We fundraise to be able to deliver crime reduction campaigns to make Wiltshire & Swindon assafe as possible.
Our latest crime reduction campaign, in partnership with Wiltshire FA, Wiltshire Police and Wiltshire & Swindon Neighbourhood Watch, aims to establish Fearless – Youth Crime Forums as part of our
‘Fearless’ brand.
Our Crimestoppers youth service, Fearless.org, gives young people
access to non-judgemental information and advice about crime. The
Fearless website offers 11-16 year olds information and advice about crime and criminality and provides a safe place to give information about crime - 100% anonymously.
We are raising funds to establish Fearless – Youth Crime Forums in the community that will provide a positive environment for young people,
so they can come together and share their concerns and experiences, and address the challenges they face in their day to day lives. The forums will also give Crimestoppers, and our partners, an opportunity to educate, support and engage young people in Wiltshire.
Your donation will help Crimestoppers raise vital funds to
develop the youth service in Wiltshire and Swindon by creating a safe haven for young people to get together and discuss issues relating to crime and other important social topics.
More about Crimestoppers
Crimestoppers operates a reporting service where people can contact us anonymously to report crime or seek advice and guidance.
We listen to the concerns and opinions of residents of Wiltshire &
Swindon and then deliver targeted crime reduction campaigns.
We believe everyone has the right to feel safe from crime, wherever they live; for ourselves and all those we care about.
We’re a charity that gives people the power to speak up to stop crime - by phone and online, 24/7, 365 days a year. We’re independent and our service is 100% anonymous.
If there is an issue in your area, we want to know about it.
