Story
I'm raising money in memory of my Grandad who passed away in 2010 after losing his battle with cancer. He fought his battle for about 2 years, whilst he was doing this his daughter (my mum) was admitted to hospital for a month with swine flu, from a development of pneumonia. Luckily she came through, so we are very thankful to the staff at Swindon's Great Western hospital on the ICU ward.
Just after this my Grandad told by the staff at Sally Oak hospital, that there was nothing more they could do, as the cancer returned.
This news really took it's toll on our family especially my nan, after being checked into to Saint Michael's Hospice in Hereford who looked after him in his last month. In the early hours on the 4th November he lost his battle.
So I'm runnning the Hereford half marathon in May to try to raise money for Saint Michael's hospice, to say thankyou for the amazing job they did in looking after my grandad, they looked after the whole family, they gave counsiling to my cousin and offered support to anyone who needed it. They pretty much allowed the whole family to move in (that deserves a medal on it's own).
So please donate anything you can, thankyou! :)
