Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I really appreciate it.
So why am I running the London Marathon as well as aiming to complete all four participation events organised by EAAA in 2023 (three Trek 24 mile events and the Only The Brave 10 mile 'tough mudder' challenge) to raise money for East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA)? Here goes.....
I have worked for EAAA for over eight years now, and have seen some of the extraordinary sacrifices made and challenges undertaken by our supporters to raise the large amounts of money we need to provide our 24/7 helicopter emergency medical service across East Anglia. I have also met many patients treated by EAAA and their families, and know how much the work of this charity means to them. Inevitably, and regrettably, there will be many more family whose lives will be touched by what we do.
All our supporters are inspirational and I thought it was about time that I joined them and did my bit for the cause once again! If I can inspire others due to the privileged position I hold, all the better!
I last ran a marathon for EAAA in 2016 and was training to run the London Marathon in 2020, but we know what happened then…. Now that we are back to some semblance of normality, it seemed like a good idea to take on all these challenges in one year. I am not sure my ageing body is agreeing, but the spirit is willing!
If you can find way to support me in this challenge, I would be very grateful. When motivation inevitably dips during the long hours of training, knowing that I have your generous support behind me will drive me on.
Thank you!
