Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In the summer of 2014 my 3 year old God daughter Lucy was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer which affects around 100 children under the age of 5 per year.
After a long brave fight against the disease, a year later little Lucy lost her battle.
As a friend you feel absolutely useless. You can be there to listen and support, but you feel there is very little you can do to help.
As a parent of two young girls myself, you understand what it's like to be the parent, but you still really can't imagine what it must be like to receive such devastating news.
For that reason, I felt I needed to do something to remember Lucy, and to try and help raise awareness and raise money for research into improving both diagnosis and treatment of the disease. Running the London Marathon is something I thought I'd always like to do one day, and this has given me the opportunity to do it for a truly valuable and personal reason.
