Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself, my two brothers and niece have completed a 50km ride in the past week. We are aiming to keep this going and rack the miles up. We will be doing this untill december this year or possibly even longer!!!
Hi my name is Matthew i am raising money for the national autistic society as we have a autistic son, I would like to tell you the story of Mason.
Mason was born 10th Feb. 2013 weighing 8lb 15oz, he was an amazing baby, he started stemming at a very young age and we didn't know about autism at the time, he started school just after his 3rd birthday where the school started to pick up on a few little things he was doing, fast forward 3 years he was placed in the OAU unit in the school he's currently in now.
When he first went it was a struggle to get Mason in to a routine of the school. I would like to thank Mrs lucus for taking the time and patience to help Mason adapt to school. He was in OAU for around 2-3 years until he was to old to stay in OAU, Mason got moved to STF1 2 years ago where Miss Johns maintained Masons progress and we would like to thank Miss Johns and everyone at the school who have helped Mason.
We finally had a diagnosis for Mason Nov 11th 2020 after a long wait.
Mason loves technology and maths, Mason is a big food lover and his favourite is sausage rolls.
Mason struggles daily with change, he can not express his emotions and that is very hard to watch as he gets very upset and angry. Myself and wife still find it hard to understand Mason but we have made huge progress with understanding our son.
Mason has 2 siblings who love him dearly, his younger brother Alfie and his older sister Jamie.
Mason has a lot of family that love and understand him, his Nana, Grampa, Grandad, Nana Jane, Auntie Deb, Uncle Rob, Uncle James, Auntie Jodie, Auntie Kelly, Uncle Craig and all his cousins who I would like to say a massive thank you to for helping and understanding Masons struggles.
If it wasn't for all these people helping Mason we would not be where we are today with the help we have received.
This is why we choose this charity to help people who don't have the support that we do and to let them know they are not alone.
Thank you for reading to the end.
Matthew and Sarah.
