Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our lovely little Harry (or Hazza as some liked to call him) was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) on 31st May 2013 aged 2 years old and started over years 3 of treatment.
Harry went into remission but cruelly developed Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) which progressed to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) in March 2016. His only cure was a Stem Cell Transplant and he underwent this on 29th July 2016. Tragically Harry passed away on 21st September 2016 due to complications, it was 8 days after his 6th birthday.
Harry was such a happy, loving and brave little boy who never complained about his illness and we are so very proud of him.
Despite the incredible advances and research over the years into this cruel disease, it still takes far too many lives - young and old.
The work that the Cure Leukaemia team are doing is raising vital funds to combat this. From their £1m appeal to build a dedicated Haematology centre to funding for the development of new drugs and transplant treatments, there are people out there today who have survived this disease or who's treatment has been greatly advanced as a direct result of the money they raise.
We are fundraising for Cure Leukaemia in order to support all the other families battling this terrible disease.
